General Reserve Information Overview

Reserve Authorities and Approvals
Reserve administration involves specific authorities for various actions. Knowing who can approve what prevents misrouting and delays. Authorities may delegate to lower levels or escalate for higher complexity actions.
Reserve Communications and Reporting
Reserve administration involves periodic reports to higher headquarters and specific communications with members and external stakeholders. Unit Manning Status Reports, statistical reports, and operational reporting drive command awareness.
Reserve Identification Cards
Reserve members and their dependents receive identification cards based on their component status. Different card types for SMCR, IRR, Standby, Retired, and Active Reserve. ID cards drive base access, healthcare, and benefits eligibility.
