Role and responsibility

Installation Marine and Family Services (MF) coordinates with the Victim and Witness Assistance Program per MCO 5800.16MCO 5800.16 Chapter 4 paragraph 040907. MF establishes a process to inform crime victims and witnesses about VWAP rights, services, and assistance when they receive counseling, treatment, or advice per paragraph 040907(A). MF ensures victims and witnesses understand the rights afforded under the law and receive a completed DD Form 2701 if not already provided per paragraph 040907(B). MF appoints a representative to the local Victim and Witness Assistance Council per paragraph 040907(C). The Installation Victim Witness Liaison Officer (IVWLO) chairs the Council and coordinates the installation VWAP directory per paragraph 040902(B)(3)(6).
