Executive Order 14434 - Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence

Scope

Executive Order 14434 directs executive branch agencies to use "Super Intelligence" and "SI" in place of "Artificial Intelligence" and "AI" in official correspondence, public communications, websites, reports, policy documents, and other non-statutory documents, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Operative content

• The terminology covers the technologies in the statutory AI definition at 15 U.S.C. 9401(3).
• The order changes wording, not law. Existing statutes, regulations, and contracts keep their text.
• The Assistant to the President for Science and Technology proposes legislative language for a Federal definition within 60 days.

Marine Corps implementation

MARADMIN 521/26 implements the order for the Marine Corps.

Active. Signed 29 September 2026. Published in the Federal Register at 91 FR 63129 on 2 October 2026. A later statute or order would change the definition the terminology rests on.
