MARADMIN 211/10 - Awards Update

Scope

MARADMIN 211/10 publishes an awards update for the Marine Corps. The MARADMIN authorizes new unit awards in NAVMC 2922, modifies the Iraq Campaign Medal (ICM) phase list, and provides Joint Meritorious Unit Award (JMUA) entries for joint headquarters. The MARADMIN was superseded by MARADMIN 398/10 (with the MWSS-271 substitution to the MUC entry) and subsequent awards updates. Applicability is the Marine Corps Total Force.

Audience

• Commanders endorsing unit awards. Apply the new NAVMC 2922 entries.
• Adjutants and S-1 staff. Process awards through MCTFS unit diary.
• Marines deployed to the listed JMUA-eligible joint headquarters. Match the period of assignment.
• Marines with service in Iraq. Apply the new ICM phase to records.

HQ Joint Area Support Group, 2008-10-02 to 2010-01-21. HQ Multi-National Security Transition Command Iraq, 2009-05-01 to 2009-12-31. HQ Special Operations Command Central, 2007-06-01 to 2009-10-31. United States Military Group Colombia, 2007-07-01 to 2009-07-01.
• Navy Unit Commendation. I Marine Expeditionary Force (FWD), 2006-02-28 to 2007-02-09. MOD to MARADMIN 0320/09 adding CO A, 9th ESB for 2006-02-28 to 2006-09-19.
• Meritorious Unit Commendation. 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, 2008-01-11 to 2008-11-15. Participating units listed (BLT 1/6, Battery A 1st Bn 10th Mar, multiple detachments).

Iraq Campaign Medal phase list

Under Secretary of Defense announced two additional ICM phases. Six approved phases.

1. Liberation of Iraq. 2003-03-19 to 2003-05-01.
2. Transition of Iraq. 2003-05-02 to 2004-06-28.
3. Iraqi Governance. 2004-06-29 to 2005-12-15.
4. National Resolution. 2005-12-16 to 2007-01-09.
5. Iraqi Surge. 2007-01-10 to 2008-12-31.
6. Iraqi Sovereignty. 2009-01-01 to TBD.
