Scope
MARADMIN 234/26 announces Marine Corps official lodging facilities become bookable when creating Temporary Additional Duty (TDY) authorizations in the Defense Travel System (DTS) effective 25 May 2026. Marine Lodges and Inns of the Corps on Marine Corps installations are official lodging facilities. Use is mandatory for military and civilian travelers when the location is inside the Integrated Lodging Program (ILP).
Audience
- Marines booking TDY through DTS. Select on-base lodging at the installation destination.
- NCO and SNCO leaders coaching Marines on travel authorizations. Confirm subordinates book Marine Lodges or Inns of the Corps when the TDY destination is a Marine Corps installation.
- S-1 staff and admin specialists. Build authorizations with the installation as the TDY destination, not the surrounding city. Route certificates of non-availability when lodging is unavailable.
- Approving Officials (AOs). Verify the TDY destination is set to the installation when applicable. Issue certificates of non-availability only when accommodations are unavailable.
Mandatory use under the ILP
- On-base official lodging is a requirement for all Department of War (DoW) travelers when the location sits inside the Integrated Lodging Program.
- All Marine Corps official lodging facilities meet DoW Lodging Adequacy Standards.
- The mandate applies to both military and civilian personnel.
Approving Official duties in DTS
- Set the TDY destination as the installation, not the associated city or town.
- Confirm the traveler selects Marine Corps official lodging when the destination is a Marine Corps installation.
- Issue a certificate of non-availability only when accommodations are unavailable.
Reimbursement rule
Reimbursement for lodging costs on official travel caps at the official lodging rate when lodging is available, the traveler does not use it, and no certificate of non-availability accompanies the voucher. Build the voucher to include the non-availability certificate when a Marine pays out of pocket for off-base lodging.
Booking channels
- TDY travelers. Book through DTS. Backup channel at https://www.marinelodge.com or the 24/7 Reservation Center, 1-(888)-409-STAY (7829).
- PCS travelers and leisure guests. Book at https://www.innsofthecorps.com or the 24/7 Reservation Center, 1-(888)-409-STAY (7829). Leisure reservations close once room inventory is reserved by official travelers or held for official mission requirements.
- All audiences. Reservations also work through the MCCS Connect application.
Action items
- Marines. Default to the installation as the TDY destination starting 25 May 2026. Book on-base lodging at the booking step.
- AOs. Brief travelers on the mandatory on-base lodging requirement before approving authorizations. Reject authorizations with off-base lodging when no certificate of non-availability is attached.
- S-1 staff. Pull a certificate of non-availability only after confirming inventory shows no rooms. Attach the certificate to the DTS authorization.
- Travelers. Save the booking confirmation or non-availability certificate inside the DTS voucher to preserve reimbursement above the official lodging rate.
Connection to higher policy
- Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), dated 1 February 2026. Authority for mandatory on-base lodging, the certificate of non-availability process, and the reimbursement cap.
- DODI 1015.11, DoD Lodging Policy, dated 23 January 2023. DoD-level lodging policy governing the Integrated Lodging Program.
