Scope
MARADMIN 270/25 catalogs the current Data Management and Artificial Intelligence (AI) training solutions available to Marines and Government Civilians. The end state is a baseline of basic awareness for all Marines, with opportunities for more advanced, specialized training. CDAO, OUSD(R&E), CD&I, TECOM, MIU, and DC I are aligning USMC Military Occupational Specialties to the eleven Data, Analytics, and AI (DA&AI) Workforce roles. Applicability is the Marine Corps Total Force.
Audience
- Marines and Government Civilians at every grade. Pull training options matched to the unit need.
- Commanding officers. Promote and authorize data and AI training.
- Career planners. Map MOS aligned with DA&AI Workforce roles.
- Information professionals (IT, Intel). Pursue advanced certificates and degrees.
- TECOM Analysis and Assessments Branch. Owns the catalog updates.
Background
Per OSD memorandum dated 2024-01-05, CDAO and OUSD(R&E) directed Service Components to prepare a plan for assigning the eleven Data, Analytics, and AI (DA&AI) Workforce roles. Three-digit work role codes assign to civilian and military billets performing tasks aligned to the billet tasks. CD&I, TECOM, MIU, and DC I established an informal OPT producing preliminary alignment of USMC MOS to DA&AI Workforce roles. DC I issued the USMC AI Implementation Plan tasking TECOM to centralize the training catalog.
