Section 1
The commanding officer is responsible for the correctness of a member's LSL record.
Section 2
The limitation of 60 days entitlement to unused leave settlement during a military career requires that certain record keeping tasks be performed. Refer to Headquarters Marine Corps-P&R (RFF) MCTFS FPM and the DOD 7000.14-R Financial Management Regulation, Volume 7A. The LSL record for Marines reenlisting with broken service and former members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard enlisting in the Marine Corps will be verified by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service-Cleveland, Military Pay Operations, General Processing, (LSL verification), after the unit has submitted a request to obtain LSL verification.
Section 3
Once verification is received from Defense Finance and Accounting Service-Cleveland, report the following transaction. The Date of Action is last day the LSL was settled. The cumulative number of whole and half days cannot exceed 60 days Career LSL limitation. The additional number of whole and half days does not count toward the 60 days Career LSL limitation.
TTC 401 000 [A] CAREER LSL [B] . [C] DAS ADDTL LSL [D] . [E] DAS |
- [A] DOA (Date of Action)
- [B] CR DAYS (Number of Career Days)
- [C] CR HLF DAY (Number of Career Half Days)
- [D] AD DAYS (Number of Additional Days)

Section 4
Reserve reporting units will monitor MCTFS and the LES to ensure that the career LSL settlement record is updated properly.
Section 5
The purpose for reporting TTC 401 000 is to ensure the member's LSL history is correct and will not generate a credit of LSL. If an adjustment is required as a result of an erroneous LSL payment, forward a request to the Disbursing Office (DO)/Finance Office (FO) for reporting.
