SLIP Eligible Billets by MOS
Quick reference: which duty stations count as SLIP-eligible for your military occupational specialty. Consult your PMOS monitor for current availability.
How to Use This Table
The locations listed below are representative of SLIP-eligible billets for each MOS. This is not a complete or current list of available assignments—that changes based on Marine Corps needs.
Your PMOS monitor determines what actually counts as "difficult to fill" and what's open right now. Use this table as a starting point. Then ask your monitor what's actually available for your specialty.

What "Eligible" Means
An eligible location is one the Marine Corps considers difficult to fill or critical for your MOS. This typically includes:
- Overseas postings (farther from CONUS, longer separation)
- Remote CONUS locations (smaller bases, isolated areas)
- Specialized billets (require additional training or rare skillsets)
Your specific eligibility depends on:
- Your current rank (NCO vs. SNCO where noted)
- Your reenlistment zone (must be B, C, or D)
- Your career stage and time-on-station
- Current Marine Corps staffing needs
Ask Your Monitor
Before you commit to a SLIP assignment, confirm with your PMOS monitor:
- Is this billet actually open? The table shows what can be SLIP-eligible, not what's available now.
- What follow-on assignments are available? The incentive is the follow-on. Know what you're working toward.
- Do I rate SLIP right now? Verify you meet all five eligibility gates (reenlistment zone, RE code, HSST, time-on-station, service obligation).
- How long is the tour? Typical SLIP assignments are 2–4 years. Confirm the length before you volunteer.
