UCMJ Authority Overview

Per MCRAMM Chapter 11 and 10 USC Chapter 47, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) provides legal authority over military members. For Reserve members, UCMJ jurisdiction depends on duty status.

When UCMJ Applies to Reservists

Per UCMJ Article 2.

Active Duty Status

UCMJ applies fully when reservist is on active duty.

• Mobilization (12301(a), 12302, 12304)
• AT (12301(b))
• ADT or ADOS (12301(d))
