Scope
MARADMIN 630/24 publishes updated Enlisted Professional Military Education (EPME) requirements for Active Duty and Active Reserve Marines. Released 2024-12-23 by CG TECOM. The MARADMIN sets the resident and non-resident course completion requirements by grade and governs PME completeness for the FY26 promotion selection boards. Applicability is the Active Component and Active Reserve.
Audience
- Active Duty and Active Reserve enlisted Marines. Apply EPME requirements by grade.
- Career planners. Track EPME completion for promotion eligibility.
- Unit S-1s and commanders. Route SDA waiver questions to MMPB-11.
- HQMC TECOM. Owns the requirements.
Requirements the portal asserts
- Board deadline. Marines must be PME complete by 2359 EST one day prior to the board convening or they count as PME incomplete.
- SDA exemption. Marines serving on, or within 365 days of transfer from, a Special Duty Assignment billet in MOS 0911, 0913, 8152, 8156, 8154, 8411, or 8421 are exempt from the resident school and the Seminar Program for their grade PME. The MarineNet EPME Course remains required.
- Exemption edge cases. Permanent personnel 0911 billets at Officer Candidate School Quantico and Officer Training Command Newport hold the exemption. LATMOVE approvals to Career Prior Service Recruiter 8422 or 8422A, Assistant Marine Officer Instructors, and 8412 Career Recruiters do not rate the waiver. The message also covers waiver treatment after relief for cause or for the good of the service.
- Waiver duration. Marines rating the SDA waiver at the board convene date keep it for the duration of the board.
- Sequenced PME. Marines should not rely on sequenced PME being authorized for FY26 PSBs.
- Competitiveness. Marines completing only MarineNet EPME are less competitive.
