PAC (IPAC)
6 pages of admin reference for Records Management.
IRAM (MCO P1070.12) Overview
MCO P1070.12 - the Marine Corps Individual Records Administration Manual (IRAM) - is the master reference for personnel records management. Every PAC clerk works from this document. The IRAM defines what records to keep, where to keep them, and how to process them.
OMPF Overview - Official Military Personnel File
The Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) is the permanent record of a Marine's military service. PAC processes additions, deletions, and corrections per MCO 1070.1 and MCO P1070.12. The OMPF drives promotion eligibility, retirement processing, and post-service VA benefits.
OMPF Document Categories and Sub-Categories
OMPF documents organize into specific categories with retention rules, access permissions, and indexing requirements per MCO P1070.12. Knowing the category drives correct indexing and prevents misfiles that block retrieval.
OMPF Submission Procedures (MARADMIN 015/20)
MARADMIN 015/20 establishes current OMPF document submission requirements. PAC processes submissions through approved systems with required metadata. Improper submissions get rejected and create audit findings.
Records Disposition and Retention Schedules
SECNAV M-5210.1 sets retention rules for personnel records. PAC applies disposition schedules to know when to retain, when to archive, and when to dispose. Wrong disposition creates audit findings or destroys records still needed.
UD/MIPS Key Supporting Document Storage (MARADMIN 601/24)
MARADMIN 601/24 directs upload of certified unit diary files and MILPAY key supporting documents into UD/MIPS within 5 working days of certification.
