Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is monthly cash payment offsetting the cost of housing for Marines not residing in government quarters. Rate depends on rank, dependent status, and zip code. Drives one of the largest pay categories with significant audit risk.
Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS) is monthly cash payment offsetting the cost of food. Standard BAS for officers and enlisted differs. Members on meal cards generally do not draw BAS. Audit-critical category requiring proper documentation.
CZTE excludes military pay from federal income tax for members serving in designated combat zones. Substantial tax savings during deployment. Specific designations for combat zones, qualified hazardous duty areas, and direct combat support.
IPAC processes the MCTFS join, posts BAH and BAS, opens the OMPF Field Folder, and reconciles EDFR after S-1 hands off the inbound package.
PAC procedure for processing NAVMC 10922 Dependency Application packages for marriage, birth, divorce, and dependent status changes. Drives BAH, dependent ID cards, DEERS, and benefit eligibility.
COLA compensates Marines stationed at high-cost locations to offset cost of living above the average. CONUS COLA applies to specific high-cost CONUS locations. Overseas COLA (OCOLA) applies to overseas duty stations with high cost of goods and services.

Disability severance pay compensates Marines separated due to medical disability not qualifying for disability retirement. Lump sum payment based on years of service. Coordination with VA disability compensation may require some recoupment.
