Role and responsibility

The IPAC outbound counselor processes PCS or TAD orders for the augment. The S-1 chief tracks individual augments against the unit roster. The S-1 officer signs by direction on the augment package. The Marine's chain of command supports the augment selection. HQMC and MARFOR coordinate the tasking through OSCAR (Operational Support Augmentation Requirement) and joint individual augmentee channels.

Processing workflow

3. Coordinate with the Marine on personal and family readiness. The S-1 confirms the Marine's personal readiness for deployment.
4. Process pre-deployment training certification. The unit certifies the Marine on pre-deployment training requirements.
5. Cut PCS or TAD orders. Per MCO 1300.8MCO 1300.8, the IPAC outbound counselor cuts the orders per the tasking duration.
6. Process personnel deployment transactions. Per MCTP 3-30GMCTP 3-30G, the S-1 processes deployment transactions through UD-MIPS.
7. Coordinate with the gaining joint or Marine Corps command. The S-1 communicates the Marine's qualifications and arrival date with the gaining command.
8. Track the individual augment through deployment. The S-1 maintains contact and tracks the augment's status.
9. Process redeployment and return to home unit. The IPAC processes the return transactions on completion of the tasking.
