Operational Restrictions - PFT, Deployability, and PCS - S-1 Procedural Page

Role and responsibility

The medical officer issues the PFT and CFT authorization scope per MCO 1900.16MCO 1900.16 Chapter 8 paragraph 8106 (Authorization for Partial or No PFT). The unit commander applies the PFT and operational restrictions per the medical scope. The S-1 chief tracks the restriction against the re-evaluation gate. The Monitor at HQMC M&RA coordinates the PCS restriction per paragraph 8107 (Deployability and PCS). The IPAC outbound counselor cuts the duty status and the related coding in MCTFS through UD-MIPS per MCTFSPRIUMMCTFSPRIUM.

Per Chapter 8 paragraph 8106 (Authorization for Partial or No PFT), the MTF medical officer authorizes partial or no PFT for Marines on LIMDU when the medical condition supports the authorization. Per paragraph 8107 (Deployability and PCS), Marines on LIMDU are not normally deployable and PCS holds apply during the LIMDU period.

Processing workflow

1. Receive medical officer PFT authorization. Per MCO 1900.16MCO 1900.16 Chapter 8 paragraph 8106, the medical officer documents the partial or no PFT authorization on the chit.
2. Apply PFT authorization. The unit applies the authorization to the next PFT or CFT cycle. The S-1 records the partial events or the no PFT status.
3. Document on Page 11. Per MCO P1070.12KMCO P1070.12K Chapter 6, cut a Page 11 documenting the PFT authorization scope and duration.
4. Code MCTFS BCP status. If the LIMDU includes BCP implications, the IPAC codes the BCP status per MCTFSPRIUM and MCO 6100.13A.
5. Apply deployability hold. Per Chapter 8 paragraph 8107 (Deployability and PCS), the unit applies the deployability hold during the LIMDU period.
6. Apply PCS restriction. Per paragraph 8107, the PCS restriction holds the Marine at the current duty station during the LIMDU period unless the Monitor coordinates a billet supporting the medical scope.
7. Coordinate with the Monitor. The S-1 coordinates with the Monitor at HQMC M&RA for any PCS movement supporting the medical scope.
8. Notify the PFT/CFT systems. The fitness test systems reflect the partial or no PFT authorization.
9. Track operational restriction against re-evaluation gates. Per Chapter 8 paragraph 8110, the unit tracks the re-evaluation appointment.
10. Close restriction on fit-for-full-duty return. On fit-for-full-duty return, the unit closes the partial or no PFT authorization and lifts the deployability and PCS holds.
