Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR / Chapter 1606)
Chapter 1606 Montgomery GI Bill provides education benefits to drilling Selected Reserve members. Drilling SMCR Marines earn MGIB-SR benefits payable monthly while pursuing approved education programs.
Post-9/11 GI Bill for Reservists (Chapter 33)
The Post-9/11 GI Bill provides comprehensive education benefits for service members with active duty service after September 10, 2001. Reservists with qualifying active duty (mobilization or other) earn substantial Post-9/11 benefits including tuition, housing, and books.
Reserve Loan Repayment Programs
The Marine Corps Reserve Loan Repayment Program (LRP) helps eligible reservists pay down qualifying student loans. Members in critical MOSs may receive substantial loan repayment as a reenlistment incentive.
Tuition Assistance (TA) for Reservists
Marine Corps Tuition Assistance pays up to $4500 per year for college courses. Reservists on extended active duty orders qualify. The benefit covers tuition costs while serving, separate from GI Bill benefits earned for later use.
