MARADMIN 590/25 - Fiscal Year 2027 Enlisted Retention Campaign

Scope

MARADMIN 590/25 announces the FY27 Enlisted Retention Campaign and the corresponding timelines and guidance. The campaign begins 1 January 2026 for Marines with an end of current contract (ECC) between 1 October 2026 and 30 September 2027 (the FY27 Retention Cohort).

Audience

Career planners run the program at the unit. Commanders manage the retention mission. Marines in the FY27 cohort use the MARADMIN to decide when and how to submit for reenlistment.

Submission timeline

• CRP. 1 January 2026 through 31 March 2026.
• LATMOV (First Term only, targeted MOSs). 1 January 2026 (per paragraph 8).
• SDA and orders. 1 January 2026 (per paragraph 6).
• FTAP and select FTAP LATMOVs. 1 April 2026 through 31 August 2026.
• SEAP. 1 April 2026.
• STAP and select STAP LATMOVs. 1 June 2026 through 31 October 2026.

CRP

The Commandant's Retention Program selects up to 20 percent of a PMOS population based on historical retention performance and needs of the Service. Selection uses JEPES retention scores. CMC announces selectees before 1 January 2026. Selectees receive an Enhanced Duty Station Incentive (EDSI) granting selection of a Monitored Command Code (MCC) before peers and ahead of the FTAP window opening 1 April. CRP requests submitted on or after 1 April 2026 do not receive EDSI.

LATMOV PMOSs available 1 January 2026

0211, 0321, 0372, 1751, 2336, 3044, 4133, 4821, 5821, 7316. Other LATMOV MOSs open at the FTAP and STAP submission periods and stay open through FY27 as conditions warrant. PMOSs close as boatspace caps fill.

Careerists (STAP)

• Marines with an ECC between 1 October 2026 and 30 September 2027 selected for E-6 through E-8 receive a streamlined submission process. Guidelines release via TFRS.
• Marines who executed a cross-FY extension receive a streamlined submission process. Reenlistment must take place before the extension begins or before the original ECC.
• STAP Marines list geolocation preferences at their option. Assignments issue based on billet vacancies, needs of the Service, Marine preference, and opportunities to maximize individual potential.

CGRP and DAP

• CGRP. Commanding generals reenlist deserving FTAP and STAP Marines beyond established boatspace caps on a PMOS-specific basis.
• DAP. Active Component Marines seamlessly transition to the Reserve Component via direct affiliation with a SMCR unit or IMA detachment, with no break in service. Submission window is NET 365 days prior to EAS and NLT 30 calendar days from EAS.

Local Command Authority extensions

Commands hold approval authority for LCA extensions beginning 1 January 2026. Marines extend as far as 2027-05 to facilitate reenlistments under this campaign.

Selective Retention Bonus

Marines prioritizing financial incentive have the option to wait for the FY27 SRB MARADMIN. SRB is not awarded retroactively for Marines who reenlist before SRB publication.

Return on investment

Contracts executed under the FY27 campaign include all remaining contract obligation at the time of reenlistment.
