Readiness
Pre-Deployment Section Readiness
NCOs and SNCOs prepare their section for deployment by verifying medical, dental, training, admin, and family readiness for every Marine. Strong section readiness enables successful mobilization.
Leader Steps
- Receive mobilization or deployment notification
- Audit each Marine's readiness across five domains
- Identify and address gaps
- Verify required training complete
- Coordinate family readiness
- Brief commander on section readiness
Why Pre-Deployment Section Readiness Matters
Per MCRAMM Chapter 10 and MCAP Enclosure 3, deployment success depends on members arriving ready. As section leader, you ensure this happens.
A Marine who reports for deployment unable to deploy.
- Wastes mobilization slot
- Disrupts unit timeline
- Creates additional admin burden
- May trigger involuntary actions
Your section readiness work prevents these problems.
