Common Failure Points

Missing Certified Copies

Originals or photocopies are not enough. CERTIFIED copies (raised seal or court-issued) are required.

Fix. Order extra certified copies at the time of the event (marriage license, court order, etc.).

DEERS-MCTFS Misalignment

DEERS enrollment completes but MCTFS does not update, or vice versa. BAH or TRICARE breaks.

Fix. Marine confirms via Marine Online and milConnect within two pay cycles. Escalate to S-1 if mismatch persists.

Failure to Update SGLI

Marriage, divorce, or birth without SGLI beneficiary update creates legal complications upon death.

Fix. Update SGLI beneficiary at every life event via Marine Online.

OMPF Document Missing

NAVMC 10922NAVMC 10922 processed but never submitted to OMPF. Audit finding and retention reverification required.

Fix. Marine confirms OMPF document presence via Marine Online OMPF section after each event.
