IRR Overview and Composition
MCRAMM Chapter 8 details Individual Ready Reserve information. IRR Marines have remaining military service obligation but do not drill. They maintain reserve component status and remain subject to recall.
IRR Mandatory Annual Muster
Per 10 USC 10206, IRR members participate in annual muster duty. The muster verifies member contact information, updates readiness data, and earns membership points. Failure to respond may affect mobilization availability.
IRR Participation Requirements
IRR members maintain specific participation requirements despite not drilling. Annual muster, address updates, readiness data, and DEERS maintenance constitute IRR participation. Failure to participate has consequences.
IRR Recall and Mobilization
IRR members are subject to recall to active duty under specific authorities. Full mobilization, partial mobilization, and Presidential Reserve Call-Up may activate IRR members. Specific procedures for IRR member mobilization processing.
