IRR Transition to Active or SELRES
IRR members may transition to active duty or back to drilling SELRES under specific conditions. Voluntary transitions involve specific procedures and contracts. Involuntary transitions occur during mobilization.

IRR Transition Options
Per MCRAMM Chapter 8 and Chapter 4 Section 10, IRR members might transition to other components under specific conditions.
Voluntary Transition
Member chooses to transition.
- Return to drilling SELRES (Selected Reserve, which covers SMCR units, IMAs, and Active Reserve Marines)
- Voluntary active duty

Involuntary Transition
